We’ve all stepped into a cab before, told the driver our destination and buckled ourselves in for relaxing ride. Just as you begin to get comfortable, your cab driver is cutting people off, running red lights and driving well above the speed limit. So much for that calm ride home…

The difference:

This is the main difference between professional car services in Calgary and taxis. Both are viable options to get you where you need to go, but the difference lies in your overall user experience. I believe the “experience” gap between sedan services and cabs comes from the amount of training required for each profession. Cab drivers must take a training course, approximately 7 hours long and they must maintain proper licensing documentation in their vehicle.

Alternatively, Sedan or Car Service Companies like National Limo, only hire trained, professional chauffeurs. For instance, chauffeurs are required to:

  • Attend a 5-day Training Course – where drivers learn proper and safe driving techniques, communication skills, city infrastructure and even tourism.
  • Adhere to all Provincial & Federal Requirements
  • Complete and pass each test administered by Alberta Ministry of Transportation

Once the drivers have completed their training course, National Limo insists that drivers also:

  • Maintain regular maintenance & inspections on vehicle, including proper insurance at all times
  • Undergo extensive Background Checks
  • Take regular tests on their geographical area and
  • Attend regular training courses on safety and city knowledge
